About EKON
Ekon is Greek for willing or desirous, but it also stands to mean a celebration of music and the arts. The Ekon – Greek Music and Performing Arts Festival is an artistic event set up in 2008 to encourage expression through a variety of art forms, and at the same time highlight Greek culture in the UK, by bringing together artists and performers from around the world and engaging them in performances that reflect their talent, artistic outlook and innovation. It is also the first festival dedicated to introducing Greek contemporary arts to a British audience and invites spectators to experience an amazing feast of the senses.
The Festival is organised by EKON and supported by the Hellenic Centre. It takes place at the Hellenic Centre, located in central London.
Aims of the Festival
The Ekon Festival is organised:

Our Mission Statement
The Festival aims to become a major arts event bringing together a wide body of artists and creators as well as young, emerging talents to present performances that reflect their creative abilities and innovative perspective in a stimulating and entertaining environment.
It also aims to offer an opportunity for the wider public, irrespective of age or background, to become involved in artistic projects focusing on a number of art forms, such as music, dance, drama or painting, that highlight different Greek cultural themes.
It seeks to operate as an independent cultural organisation offering access for audiences and young people in particular to performances and events that introduce them to different art forms and expressions of Greek culture.
